2008 was a great year new records, stars and memories. Phelps to Spears this year’s stars have certainly made their marks. From the gold’s of the Olympics to the comeback kids of entertainment, 2008 was most defiantly an exciting year. Top ten lists of movies, music and plays and my opinions about this year’s amazing, interesting and just flat out funny events.

Music

This year was loaded with TONS of new music stars and styles. Although they were not always my favorites here is the top ten list of music from 2008. Beyonce single ladies was number one because not only is it a very up to beat fun song but it is a great song to sing and dance along to. Beyonces new album I am… Sasha Fierce came out and not even a week later was a top selling album of 2008. With many great songs it has made the top ten list of music for 2008!

Movies

2008 had HUGE varieties of movies including, action, romance, comedy and tragedies. WALL-E is the number one movie of the year because not only is it an excellent movie but it is the best romance movie of the year, WALL-E was an emotional, adorable, and touching movie and that is why it has made the top ten movie list of 2008.

Plays

Broadway has certainly out done its self this year from the comedies of hairspray, mamma mia and Spamalot to… rent, wicked, and Chicago. Billy Eliot came out later in the year but mad a HUGE impact early on. It’s about a young boy who notices his true passion to dance while the rest of the little boys wish to box and fight. This musical is to Elton John’s legendary music and sells out night after night!

This year multiple events have happened that will change history forever. One of the biggest news events this year would be the presidential election either way we would be making history our first black president or the first woman vice president. As if this want enough the Beijing Olympics began 8/8/08 and like we could ever forget our MANY gold medals brought home. But for me one of the biggest events this year was the Phillies World Series victory, as a lifelong fan this made my year and many others! This year the famous and very adored Jonas Brothers made their big debut and became teen idols to almost every girl in America! With their hit songs and multiple albums already out they are headed for even more success in 2009! Americas comeback kid, Britney spears herself, as she started her year off just a little bumpy she eventually cleaned up her act and came out with her new hit single womanizer! 2008 was a great year with great memories and will never be forgotten!
